The Innate Potential of Life

Isn’t life amazing? The force that animates, unifies and organizes substances in such a way to create you? It is awe inspiring when we pause to give thought to just what it would take to develop “you” from two cells at conception to the multi-billion walking, breathing, thinking, feeling person you are. This force innately knows. We don’t teach it. It’s already present with life. So give thanks to this day.

While perhaps not every day is a “joy-joy” day, we can reframe how we look at what the day brings to make each day better.

I know that I can learn from each moment and that tougher days bring me interesting lessons on how I participated in making it so. After all, I have no-one but myself who decided how I want to respond to this day. Perhaps a better way is to not label days as good or bad in the first place? While most days are a step forward, some go sideways and some days I’d like to push “restart”, but then I’d miss the appreciation of what I’ve learned and the discernment gained from those really great days.

Like a sunset, some are great, some fizzle and some well, just don’t happen. So revel in the glorious ones, appreciate the fizzlers and know some may not go the way intended. Those last ones do call upon reflection because tomorrow the sun will rise again and it is in those last ones that many times a rainbow appears.

Today, I ask you to pause for just a moment to examine your life, give thanks to that force that animates and unifies you. If you really want to manifest change, keep a running list of your blessings in a daily account as a gratitude journal.
