You know when you are and aren’t present. One of the challenges in living fully in the moment is that so often we’re busy running through our day. Or perhaps that’s just me? We may be tired and with the thought of slowing down for just a moment to be present, we fall asleep. I do not think it’s just me. We’re just dog tired. So what do we need to improve our presence? Presence in the Work Place: The “Check-in”
Last week, we talked about leading with your heart, but how does this work in the corporate world? In professions? Yes, you have corporate missions, strategies, goals and targets to meet yet behind them all are people: people who have lives and who may be going through difficult situations. I was led in a direction to a place where everything seemed out of place. A path of moss along a tree... A stone held in the air by an uprooted tree... A broken down cottage roof, a chair with no seat. All … [Read more...]
Mindful or Mindless?
I was working out with a medicine ball on my Bosu yesterday and I couldn't remember how many reps I'd done. Good that I noticed but not-so-good that I was not fully present. My mind was occupied on another project at the time. Why is this not good? Our body and mind should be aligned which has a double pun as a chiropractor but by aligned I mean aware & mindful of each other. How often do injuries occur in work or play when not paying attention? When an injury has occurred where was your focus preceding it? Our body is intelligent yet we … [Read more...]
