This is where I love coaching groups through tapping or forwarding them off to RIM® techniques. There are lots of facilitative techniques that allow us to “reacquaint” ourselves with our true selves. This is where the magic can begin when working through subconscious limiting beliefs and emotions. Let them become conscious to work through us and not get stuck within us.
To live life being fully aware and not being a slave to our reflexes, impulses, and poor habits, is to enjoy living present in the moment.
We hear about animal instincts – fight or flight, yes?
We may have glimpses of our instinct: That gut feeling, wanting to avoid pain and seeking pleasure, instincts for survival, procreation, drives, and our animal nature. When we operate in this realm, we make decisions in the moment and often emotionally driven for a gain or avoiding a loss.
What about when we blend our heart with our mind and our intuition to access the 6th sense? How often have you made a decision going against strong intuitive senses? Have you regretted it? What happens when you follow your intuition? I find that intuition comes from a place that I really have no evidence for, yet when I follow it, I rarely go wrong.
I remember a number of years ago, my intuition told me to head to the office in a certain direction. My ego over-rode it with lots of excuses as to how it would take longer, was less direct, etc. But coming up to the interchange there was a pull to turn. I didn’t. Within 100 yards I hit black ice, traversed on a sunny day across two lanes of oncoming traffic to hit a snow bank which promptly helped my SUV to flip! Needless to say, when the snow settled, it took me a lot longer to get to work.
It’s the same thing when I saw a new patient who just looked “off”. No red flags but my hackles went up. There was a non-logical 6th sense that this person had something going on which would require emergency care. So in learning to listen and not question my 6th sense, we had her go to the hospital. In the waiting room she had an embolism in her lung. At the time I couldn’t put my finger on what is was, other than it just wasn’t right. Glad followed that one.
