Have a heart: It’s February and of course the month we often focus more closely on the heart.
In my own journey, it is an eye-opening realization that the people who are truly happy are the ones who are authentic and work from a place of unconditional love. It begins with self first, then they radiate outward to others.
It matters not how much they’ve got, their pedigree, their school, business or how many degrees they have. While achievements and heart-warming accolades are wonderful in themselves, they can be empty unless realized through an open heart and sense of “oneness” or connection with others.
I tweaked a saying many years ago to replace “know” with “feel”… People do not care what you know until they “feel” that you care.
Intellectually we know things, but rarely does that move us into action, but feeling does.
So take this month to explore how you feel. Increasing our awareness of where we are in each moment while recognizing we can choose how we want to feel at any time. It is easier said than done. However first comes awareness of where we are right now.
What action do you need to take to ‘get more’ in your own heart?
Would you consider getting in touch with your intuition and spirit? Could you? When?
What would greater connection with you look like? In my experience, the greatest key is to create quiet time to experience self.
Make a date to stop the ‘busy-ness’ and experience where you are in the here and now. You can start with 10-15 minutes. Perhaps taking more silent walks in nature, meditating, writing, sitting in stillness and silence, or movement therapies can help you connect with you, too, such as Qigong or Yoga.
Make a date with yourself to ‘be’ present in the moment and see what comes up.
See if you can take 15 minutes upon arising or at the end of your day. Let me know what comes up. Warm and fuzzies? Discomfort? Messages of inspiration?
